Proxi is not just for Griffin products
Proxi works quite well with Griffin products like the Powermate but is not limited to that in any way. That’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
Proxi works by monitoring for certain triggers. These triggers can be things like somone fiddling with a Powermate but can also be the addition of a file to a certain folder. You can set triggers up for Skype events. You can set triggers up for Mail or RSS or Speech Recognition events. There’s a full list of triggers at Proxi’s Wiki and more are added with each release. Note that releases have been pretty quick (2 updates since I first downloaded Proxi about a week ago).
Stepping through
Now, allow me to step you through the creation of my own Proxi Blueprint. Blueprints are pretty much just recipes for Proxi. You can create and share them. A few are available via links at the wiki. Commands or menu items are in bold. Anything that’s up to the user is in italics (unless I goofed while editing this).
