The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is the largest sanctioning body of stock cars in the United States. NASCAR was first born in 1949 when the Winston Cup series was made. There was a long line of stockcar champions waiting. In the later years of NASCAR when the champions began to come from stockcar racing the major champions of the time were Richard Petty and David Pearson. The two would change history of NASCAR forever.
